These races, characterized by their demanding terrain and challenging weather conditions, attracted the boldest drivers and the most prestigious automobile manufacturers of the time. The races showcased the rapidly evolving technology of automobiles, as manufacturers competed to prove the capabilities of their vehicles in these extreme conditions.
